I have a really great feeling about this year! I believe that it is going to bring something super-special to all of us, give us an advantage and encourage us to create the lives of our dreams. Even though the concept of the New Year is something we have created, and we know that the experience of life doesn’t really have a beginning or end – that it is a continuum of experience , this idea of one year ending and another year beginning creates an enormous opportunity. We pass through the rituals of New Year celebrations, take time to reflect on the past and file the years memories. And then we mentally get t create our year ahead. What we would like. What we wouldn’t like. How to approach things differently this time. Now is the time to put BIG dreams on the table and make a plan on taking lots of little steps towards them. New Years is a fresh start, an empty slate, a blank canvas for your life. Let go of the old, forgive all the mishaps, remember how much you really love this life and yourself, plan in hand, take 2011 by the balls!

It’s never to late to start so hear is an easy guide on how to create a new amazing year:

1. Start with reflecting on the past year. I like to go through my old daily planner and see what I have done and what has happened. I am always surprised! Ding this really brings the year into perspective. I like to go through all the memories that arise, the great, the weird and the funny, and whenever I get to a memory that makes me feel uncomfortable I stop for a moment and forgive myself for whatever happened. This is part of the letting go process whcih opens up space for new fresh experiences uncharged by the past.

2. Next make some lists. Either make one mega list of all the things you would like in your life this new year: two-thousand-and-heaven or compartmentalise the list into section such as work, relationships, health, and so on. Place the list(s) somewhere you can see them every day to remind you to take small steps fulfilling your dreams.

3. Start to make a plan on all the steps you can take. Remember that even the loftiest dreams are accomplished with many small steps. Take your time, practise presence in everything you do and before you know it you will be living your dreams!

4. Admittedly, sometimes there are silly negative beliefs that keep us from achieving what we want. Beliefs that are sneaky and underlying so we don’t even realise they exist. Common ones are: I’m not good enough to…., I don’t deserve ….., I’m not attractive enough …… and so on. Be conscious when they crop up and replace them with a positive affirmation, one that feels right for you. Recognise that somewhere along the line you believed this to be true and now is the perfect time to realise this thought is false. You ARE worthy of ANYTHING you can imagine. You DO DESERVE your dreams. You ARE GORGEOUS and SMART enough to do anything you put your mind to. Remind yourself everyday and then go for it. YOU CAN DO IT! I believe in you! x
