“Hi Vienda, not sure this is a typical topic but I’d love to know your thoughts on fear of loss/living in the moment.. I find myself fearing for the inevitable loss of a parent or pet or opportunity and I’d love to know tips on how to get out of my head and into the moment and not dread the far off inevitable in life. Thanks do much I adore all of your posts!” — Robyn
What a rock-n-roll start to our rapid-fire Q + A! So let’s just straight in:
Living with any kind of fear, be it of loss, of the future, of the past or anything else, simply means 1 singular thing: That you are not here, in the present moment. That you are believing the thoughts in your head, instead of trusting in where you are at right now.
Thoughts are just thoughts. They only have the meaning that we give them. The have no power except, that, which we provide. When you start to see your thoughts as separate to who you really are, they lose their all-encompassing grip on us, and we can sink into ourselves and the present moment.
So, what I suggest you do is, when you have fearful thoughts, examine them. Ask yourself, “Is this true?” and “Is this likely to happen?”. And if it is, follow those thoughts with another question, “What’s the worst thing that could possibly happen?”. You will start to realize that your thought patterns are simply your ego trying to control you and keep you small.
We tend to think the same repetitive thoughts all day every day – studies even have it pinned down to 90% of our thoughts being unoriginal thoughts that we’ve been repeating for days, weeks, months and even years, over and over again.
Now, as you recognize your thoughts to be untrue, decide to replace them with thoughts that you actually want to be having. So instead of “I’m so scared my beloved pet is going to die!” (and reality check here: at some point it will – that’s part of life), think to yourself “I love my pet so much, I’m going to make the most of every moment we have together!”. And so on.
Start to replace your negative thoughts with positive thoughts, and with lots of practice, and before you know it, you entire life experience will have changed!
Also, maybe also go see a holistic general practitioner and get some tests done. Quite often when we are stuck in fearful thoughts, there is a biochemical reason. Your mineral levels might be out of whack and you might to be absorbing important nutrients. It’s best to check out how your health is and just focus on your mind. We are, after all whole beings: body, mind and soul.
“I have two questions:
1. How do you know what place you should move to? When u have a few places that are in your head what is it that draws u to that particular place? How do you know that’s where u need to go next? U do it so effortlessly Vienda!
2. When u ask the universe for some signs and you don’t seem to get any why is that? Or is there signs there but u just havent noticed them?” — Love, Gemma.
Good questions Gemma!
1. When it comes to moving, I simply feel it. I feel the pull or a calling someplace, and I follow it. If there’s none, I stay put. I never force these things and rather just respond to the natural current of life. Sometimes that means moving on, and sometimes that means staying still. When it’s time to move on, I know because many different things have been calling me in that direction. It’s just something that I know. It’s a feeling thing, not a thinking thing.
2. When I ask the universe for signs and I’m not getting any that means don’t do anything. Just because you’re not getting the sign you want, doesn’t mean you’re not getting one. It’s just coming to you in the way that you don’t expect. Be patient and wait. This is a really good time to practise trust in the greater wisdom and surrender your ego and life to that. The universe is constantly communicating with us, it’s up to us to listen. Be open to them coming to you in ways that you might never expect.
“I’m so in love with the hypnosis mp3 you created, I wonder if you could speak a little more about hypnosis and perhaps your experience with it? Or create another one so I can have more in my collection?
Also, I know you wrote a blog post a while back on health issues and their metaphysical causes… perhaps you can share something more on health?” – Elle xx
Thank you Elle, here’s what I’ve got for you:
1. Self-hypnosis is essentially brainwashing yourself with thoughts and beliefs and experiences that you actually want to have. And luckily for you, my sweet, I have another recording coming out very, very soon! (Shhhh, it’s a surprise!)
2. Health is paramount in my opinion. Without health we don’t get to enjoy and experience the gift that this life is. What I think we tend to overlook, however, is that every physical issue, has an emotional, spiritual and metaphysical counterpart. Most health problems arise from unresolved emotions and holding onto things from the past. So no matter what is happening, the on thing that I always do, is check in with myself, and ask “What is this truly about? Is this mine? Or am I carrying for someone else?” And then I listen.
It’s incredibly surprising how often we take on responsibility for others stuff. Once you know who it belongs to, simply give it back. If it’s yours, go deeper and uncover what the emotional and the root cause of this health issue is. No one knows your body better than you do. You will always discover the cause if you are willing to listen and respond to your own inner wisdom.
“I would like to know about crystals and chakras.” – Raquel
Raquel, I don’t specialise in those topics but I’ll share what I can. I wrote everything I know about chakras right here, which is a simple and easy guide to understanding your own chakras.
Crystals on the other hand, are not a topic I know deeply about. It’s all about what you’re attracted to. I love crystals, and have quite a collection in my possession, as I have done since I was a child. I especially like wearing them, when I feel drawn to a certain stone. And again, here I just use my intuition to choose what stones are beneficial to me in that moment. I don’t know everything about all their properties, because for me personally, I don’t need to. I know what I feel, and if what I feel is good around certain stones, then they come home with me.
Trust yourself in exploring the world of crystals and chakras. There’s a monumentous amount of information out there. Follow what you’re drawn to and you will get just the right thing that you need in that moment.
