The creator and editor of Soul Riot Magazine, Rebecca Hunter recently contacted me to do an interview for her Fresh Coast Collective series. We had met a few months earlier in Manchester to discuss life, love, passions and dreams and quickly built a friendship over our shared love of words, pens and paper.
Rebecca sweetly recalls our meeting in the article:
“Vienda loves to travel the world (the words ‘free spirit’ spring instantly to mind), but she stayed put long enough for our paths to cross a few months ago in modest ol’ Manchester, England. The time flew as she sipped her coffee, I savoured a smoothie and we discussed life, travel, education, politics, non-conformity, independence and masses more. It was like connecting with a long-lost friend, which is a vibe that Vienda exudes so easily. Her go-with-the-flow attitude is contagious, and I can’t wait for you to read what she’s got to say.”
Then she goes on to ask me some deep, thoughtful and courageous questions. I tell her all about what I know to be true.
“Love. My immediate, intuitive answer is that Love is what I know to be true. I am speaking of love in the metaphysical sense rather than the romantic, of course, but in a way, it’s all one and the same when it’s pure and real. Love is the answer to everything, and everything is made of Love. Love is the essence of life and the answer to all its mysteries.
There are four questions of value in life… What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for, and what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same. Only love.
– Johnny Depp”
And then I share my dangerous, three-borders-in-one-day experience, where I placed all my trust and life into the hands of a young Hondurian street-kid who had just been released from jail. Click here to read the full article.
